Sometimes there are instances where women are denied certain privileges and opportunities in life because people interpret their strength and ambition as them being “masculine” and shut them down because they don’t recognize that a woman can kick ass and dominate a conversation because she’s just that good. Misogyny is a reality.
But there is a DISTINCT difference between a woman that’s strong and women that try to blaze through life being assholes and using their “bluntness” as a veil of false honesty to get what they want.
Having a vagina does not mean that people are going to be nice to you - whether its in a sexist culture or just in general. You SHOULD be strong and pick yourself up by your own boot straps but you can’t be a “dick” and think that you can use your femininity as a crutch so people can’t accuse you of generally being a mean person.
Strong is not the same thing as being a dumbass who thinks that everyone and their mother owes them something.
If someone targets your femininity specifically, that’s misogyny.
If someone calls you out for being an asshole without a single mention of your femininity, that is NOT misogyny. That’s them calling you out because they think you’re being an asshole.
